Sahara
The Western Sahara (the old Spanish Sahara), territory the northwest of Africa and old outer province of Spain, that was divided, in 1976, between Mauritania and Maruecos, and, from 1979, occupied entirely by Maruecos. The Western Sahara has a surface of 252,120 km2 and limits, to the north, with Maruecos; to the northeast, with Algeria; to the east and the south, with Mauritania, and to the west with the Atlantic Ocean. The inhabits of the Western Sahara approximately promotes 252,000 inhabitants, mainly of ethnic group to bereber or Arab. A considerable part of the inhabitants, stimulated to emigrate to the Western Sahara by the Moroccan government. Most of the native population saharaui lives exiliada in fields of refugees located in the southwest of Algeria; saharauis in the fields of refugees around Tindouf are approximately 196,000.
